Cricket betting rewards preparation. Conditions, the toss and team news move prices more than in most sports, and a T20 match can swing in a single over. This guide covers the markets, the two ways to bet (sportsbook and exchange), and the habits that keep cricket betting sensible.
What can you bet on in cricket?
A typical IPL fixture carries around 50 markets, from the match winner to total runs, highest opening partnership and player specials.
| Market | What you are betting on | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Match winner | Which team wins the match | Check the pitch report and toss result first |
| Total runs | Whether the match total goes over or under a line | Small grounds and flat pitches push totals up |
| Highest opening partnership | Which pair of openers scores more | Compare openers’ recent strike rates |
| Player specials | Individual batting or bowling performances | Confirm the player is in the final XI |
Should you bet on cricket in the sportsbook or on the exchange?
Use the sportsbook for simple pre-match bets and accumulators. Use E2 Exchange or VELKI when you want to lay an outcome or trade a position as the match moves.
On the exchange you bet against other players instead of the bookmaker. That lets you bet that something will not happen, which is called laying. Our betting exchange guide explains back, lay and liability with worked examples.
How should you approach T20 betting?
Decide your stake before the first ball, focus on a few markets you understand, and avoid chasing losses when the match turns.
- Conditions matter most. Dew in evening matches tends to help the chasing side, and some grounds consistently produce high or low totals.
- Watch the powerplay. The first six overs often set the tone for totals markets.
- Prices move fast. In live T20 betting, odds can change after every ball. Read our live betting guide.
- No system beats variance. Even a well-researched bet can lose to one big over.
Which cricket promotions are running?
During the T20 Challenge, two promotions run on E2 Exchange and VELKI until 15 November 2026.
- Low Score Safety Shield: if your first T20 Challenge bet of the day (from 1,000 BDT) loses and the match total is 134 runs or fewer, get 20% to 40% of your stake back, up to 7,777 BDT.
- Lucky Number 77777: a Bet ID ending in 777, 7777 or 77777 earns 77, 777 or 7,777 BDT.
- Daily sports rebate: up to 0.35% of your cricket turnover back every day.
